I was always known for my beautiful cheese trays but now I'm #dairyfree . ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸI gave up dairy several years ago because dairy can cause #inflammation in the body and contribute to disease. Many people also have a lactose intolerance. Dairy products are also known to have an increased amount of hormones. Honestly, it was not that hard for me to give up dairy. Yogurt was more of the issue because yogurt and granola were my go to lunch in the pharmacy ( now if I do have yogurt it is made with #almondmilk ). So... I could never get why when I talked to people about the benefits of going dairy free they said ' I can't give up cheese!! ' I know now why and after hearing this three times in one week I have to share!! ๐Ÿ‘
When digested the casein in cheese becomes casomorphin. This byproduct makes you feel good thus the cheese addiction!! ๐Ÿ™ƒ I've never been a huge cheese eater- curious has anyone experienced this? ๐Ÿง€๐Ÿง€๐Ÿง€

I've had a bit of a social media blackout for the past few days after reading through tonnes and tonnes of negativity and just plain nastiness was starting to get me down.  Not aimed at me personally, just in general.

I thought it was time to share with you my trip to the new @nourishfastfood on Ecclesall Road though!  I was kindly invited along to a taster evening, and I learnt so much about nourishing my body.  Dave, who talked us through each dish we tried was so knowledgable, and it was clear to see how passionate he was about his business and educating people on healthy eating and fuelling our body with the right foods.

Having quite the sweet tooth, my favourite dish I tried was the Avocado Chocolate Moose.  Although you could definitely taste the avocado, it tasted mostly like I was eating a rich dark chocolate moose.  Compared to my attempt at making avocado moose a while back (it was the most horrific failure ever!), this was so tasty, and the consistency and texture was spot on! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

I get to do different kind of jobs and all are the ones I truly enjoy. I acknowledge the privilege but also my own proactive character and habits. Did two days of modeling with an amazing professional team and I got to sleep and read on the breaks. How amazing is that ๐Ÿ‘ŒCurrently I'm reading #GIRLBOSS by #SophiaAmoruso who's book I borrowed from a real life Diva and girlboss @realnamediva. I must admit, this is a tough dilemma ๐Ÿ˜‚ Love shoes more than cooking? ๐Ÿ‘  Ikea recommends using a spare kitchen cupboard to store boots and heels instead of herbs and spices ๐Ÿ˜ What do you think? The struggle is real haha ๐Ÿ˜†

This weekend I've spent most of the time under the blanket feeling under the weather (and seeing photos of my family and friends celebrating midsummer on the other side of the world ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒฟโœจ). Even if I don't think that we have to find meaning in everything, I still feel like I sometimes get unwell if I don't give myself enough time to relax and rest when I get busy with life. So instead of following my plans I had for the weekend I knew it was time to take some time off and do nothing else but relax and rest โ€” And I feel like that was exactly what I needed this time. Get your bake onโœจ
This chocolate cake is DREAMY. The recipe is from the lovely @carolinelamont at Great In, Great Out. It is ridiculously delicious and also happens to be #vegan and #paleo. Don't snub it - it's epic: moist, dense, brownie like. AND SUPER EASY. Here's how...
Combine dry ingredients:
3 cups ground almonds
1/2 cup raw cacao (or cocoa powder)
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Then add in the wet ingredients:
1 mashed banana
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup maple syrup (or honey)
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
Once all combined add in the final ingredient:
4 tbsp apple cider vinegar (this will make it froth a little and help the cake to rise)
Then spoon the mixture into a lined 20cm cake tin and bake at 180C for 30 mins (check at 20mins how it's getting on).

It's been an eventful weekend to say the least, one of the highlights was finally going to @the_skinny_kitchen in Bournemouth with @beckymjarmo and @elliegcv ! This brunch was so good and obviously rather healthy. If only I could make something similar at home ๐Ÿ˜‹

Get your bake onโœจ
This chocolate cake is DREAMY. The recipe is from the lovely @carolinelamont at Great In, Great Out. It is ridiculously delicious and also happens to be #vegan and #paleo. Don't snub it - it's epic: moist, dense, brownie like. AND SUPER EASY. Here's how...
Combine dry ingredients:
3 cups ground almonds
1/2 cup raw cacao (or cocoa powder)
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Then add in the wet ingredients:
1 mashed banana
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup maple syrup (or honey)
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
Once all combined add in the final ingredient:
4 tbsp apple cider vinegar (this will make it froth a little and help the cake to rise)
Then spoon the mixture into a lined 20cm cake tin and bake at 180C for 30 mins (check at 20mins how it's getting on).
