We love Him, because He first loved us. -1 John 4:19
Our hope is His love.
But are we really loving Him back?
Fully, with every breath, with every action, with every word?
I don't know about you but I'm struggling to get it right, more now than ever before.
Our current political climate is hostile and angry and uncertain.
I find when I read recent events and watch the news, my blood starts to boil, my skin starts to crawl...and yet I claim to walk with Christ.
I'm struggling to find the balance between love and justice. But I still hope.
I am having a hard time loving people who proudly stand against everything I believe.
I'm having a harder time with hate speech from Christians.
My heart is hardening.
I need to get it together.
I need to find the balance between love and justice.
Whatever your position, we must admit the way we're treating each other couldn't be farther from love.
Jesus said love one another. Period.
He didn't say love only the people who look like you or think like you or only when you feel like it. That would be entirely too easy. We can already do that, mostly without breaking a sweat.
Christians are not called to be like the world. We are supposed to be different, set apart, made in Christ's image.
I'm feeling like I have a lot of enemies, a lot of people I need to figure out how to love.
I can have a side without belittling and ridiculing my opponent. I can make a stand for justice and still walk or march in love.
I have hope. I love because He first loved me.
Will you join me?
Will you seek to find the balance between love and justice and being made in Christ's image?
Life on Purpose looks like coming together in hope and love to seek Him.
