A Toffifee cake for a Toffifee fan!
The brief was to create a cake using Toffifees for decoration, so I baked this simple vanilla sponge which was sandwiched and coated with caramel buttercream (I made my own caramel sauce, check my #instastory
to watch how I did it), before being completely covered in fondant icing. I did plan to use more Toffifees but you know that saying 'less is more', I felt it was true in this case, so left it as it is.
This was my second time using fondant icing, I'm slowly getting the hang of it but there's still so much to learn, I wish I had more time to practise. I'm always for trying new cake decorating techniques and today I fancied trying my hand at brush embroidery, not bad for a first attempt but I need more practise, I also need to practise piping lettering on cakes too. Can't complain though, I was happy with how this cake turned out today, alhamdullilah!
I REALLY need to learn to pace myself, I'm a very lastminute.com kinda person, put things off until the eleventh hour and then rush......but I'm sure most of you can relate to that, right? 😉💗 Af_____
