If I'm honest, the first trimester kicked my ass. While I was still able to work out regularly, I found that if it didn't happen in the morning then it wasn't going to happen at all. My nausea tends to peak mid day and by early afternoon my bed is calling my name for a nap. Knock on wood, but maybe I'm turning a corner because today I was able to get in a workout during Siena's nap for the first time in months. It felt great to sweat and although I had to made some modifications and take more breaks than normal, I'm lifting my normal size weights and feeling strong ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป . My main motivation for weight lifting at this point is to keep my body strong so that I'm able to carry both babies as comfortably as possible for as long as possible. While there are plenty of things outside of my control when it comes to that, at least continuing my weight training makes me feel almost like my normal self!

I love driving around and seeing all the front porches decked out for fall + Halloween! โ˜บ๏ธ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป But as much as I love it, Iโ€™ve never made decorating much of a priority (probably bc we live in a condo & also Iโ€™m not very good at it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ). Can't get enough of these bananas sautรฉed in @fourthandheart vanilla bean ghee + cinnamon ๐ŸŒ. I added them to Ezekiel toast with @artisanaorganics cashew butter, blackberries, pepitas + cacao nibs for a delicious breakfast๐Ÿคค! I've got a busy day ahead working on a presentation for next week ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป, but hoping I can get outside to enjoy this beautiful sunshine ๐ŸŒž. Have a great Saturday loves!!

I remember my first trip to my OB/GYN after having a positive pregnancy test. I was so excited to be pregnant, and I felt ready for this journey to begin. I also remember my doctor looking me straight in the eyes to tell me that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. My excitement quickly turned to fear over this startling and blunt statistic.

I was blessed to experience 3 pregnancies that gave me 3 amazing boys. My fourth pregnancy became that 1 in 4 statistic. At seven weeks pregnant I had a miscarriage. Although I had a wonderful family already, it didnโ€™t change the pain of that loss, even the loss of something only the size of a blueberry--my Baby Blue.

It left me with many questions. Would I be able to have another successful pregnancy? Did I do something wrong this time around? Was my 3rd baby, my last?

I was blessed again with a 5th pregnancy that brought me my 4th son, a rainbow baby, that like the rest of my boys I couldnโ€™t imagine life without. Yet I realize if my 4th pregnancy had not ended in loss, my rainbow baby would not be here today. These thoughts can be too much to bear at times, but this experience taught me to trust the timing in my life. I believe everything happens for a reason, even when I cannot understand it.

I really wanted to wear this outfit yesterday morning (this photo is from 2 years ago) and the shirt fits well but the skirt was just too tight around my waist. 
Usually when old clothes donโ€™t fit well, I am able to take a step back and be compassionate towards myself.

Yesterday was different. I have been feeling stressed out. I have broken off two friendships the past week that were very unhealthy. I had a bad panic attack two nights ago. 
So when I went to put on this outfit yesterday morning, I quickly got frustrated with myself. I tried sucking in my stomach. I tried squeezing into the skirt. I tried zipping it up 3/4 of the way (which was ok) and tired to smooth it out in the back. It was not working no matter how much I tried to make this damn skirt work on my body. I got so frustrated at one point that I ripped off the skirt and opted for a different one that does fit well. Before choosing a different article of clothing though, I was grabbing at my fat angrily as I looked in the mirror at myself with my face getting red and tears starting to stream down my face. After finding a comfortable outfit I liked, I balled up the skirt and threw it to the back of my closet.

So next, I went back to my closet door with the full length mirror and I stood there for a couple minutes, just trying to take in what I looked like/reality.

After taking in what I saw, without grabbing at my fat or viewing myself angrily, I said some affirmations to myself out loud as I made eye contact with my reflection. โ€œI am worthy.โ€ โ€œI am getting better every day.โ€ โ€œI deserve friends who value me and donโ€™t use me.โ€ โ€œI am compassionate.โ€ โ€œI am recovering.โ€ I took another deep breath and smiled at my reflection. Then, I went about my day. 
I want to share this because I am certainly not strong and confident all the time. However, it is ok to struggle; we all have our moments. As long as we pick ourselves up again and continue moving forward, we are progressing. Our struggles do not, and never will, negate our strength.
I really wanted to wear this outfit yesterday morning (this photo is from 2 years ago) and the shirt fits well but the skirt was just too tight around my waist. Usually when old clothes donโ€™t fit well, I am able to take a step back and be compassionate towards myself. Yesterday was different. I have been feeling stressed out. I have broken off two friendships the past week that were very unhealthy. I had a bad panic attack two nights ago. So when I went to put on this outfit yesterday morning, I quickly got frustrated with myself. I tried sucking in my stomach. I tried squeezing into the skirt. I tried zipping it up 3/4 of the way (which was ok) and tired to smooth it out in the back. It was not working no matter how much I tried to make this damn skirt work on my body. I got so frustrated at one point that I ripped off the skirt and opted for a different one that does fit well. Before choosing a different article of clothing though, I was grabbing at my fat angrily as I looked in the mirror at myself with my face getting red and tears starting to stream down my face. After finding a comfortable outfit I liked, I balled up the skirt and threw it to the back of my closet.
