Technical question here. How did you prepare the papyrus for writing? It's so wrinkled.
One of my favorites! I just wish it would flow at an appropriate speed sometimes! :-)
Stunning letterforms, Georgia!
Oh wow. Such tension in the strokes ... Amazing Georgia. My compliments yet again.
Loving that papyrus.
I never so anything on papyrus. Well done 👍
@sandrarwagner - I didn't do anything! It wasn't so difficult a surface for the brush, though I did abrade it a little after the letters were painted. I think there is a reference (Cicero, Pliny?) about the papyrus being treated somehow - maybe a slim cost of clay- but I haven't researched it yet. Best to you Sandy🙂
'Slim cost of clay'😅
Thank you friends:-)
As a papyrologist I have to admit that this is amazing! The reference we have on the manufacturing of papyri as writing material can be found in Pliny the Elder, Natural History, xiii, 74–82 😉
@danaoula87 Thank you for the kind words and the reference🌞 I've been meaning to read about the preparation of papyrus for sometime. I have no excuse now!
